This is the horrifying moment that a WWE star suffered a broken rib and a punctured lung during a live broadcast of RAW.
Professional wrestler JD McDonagh, known as the Irish Ace, was competing alongside Dominik Mysterio in the World Tag Team Championship.
McDonagh came unstuck in horrifying fashion after attempting to perform a springboard moonsault - a backflip off the middle rope to the outside of the ring in an effort to bring down his opponent in a chokehold.
A gruesome replay of the incident showed the back of his neck smashing against the announcer's desk, which was situated just outside the ring.
He can then be seen slumping forward as his head reels from the impact of hitting the desk as such speed and was seen crumpled in a heap on the floor after the incident.
While commentator Michael Cole said the 34-year-old Irish star, should be checked on to make sure he was not badly injured, McDonagh was able to see out the match.
Unfortunately for himself and Mysterio, the pair's efforts were in vain as the War Raiders were able to defended the Tag Team Championship.
McDonagh was taken to hospital after suffering the brutal injuries, and later provided an update to his fans on social media.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, he wrote: 'First off, thanks to everyone for the messages and the concern. I'm good,' he wrote on X.
'I've got a couple of broken ribs and a punctured lung, so I'm going to be out for a couple months. All things considered, it could have been a lot worse, so I'm grateful for that. See ya in a bit.'
Messages of support came in from his fellow WWE peers, with Chad Gable labelling McDonagh as 'remarkable'.
Ivar, one half of the War Raiders tag team, simply tweeted 'respect', along with a prayer emoji to send his best wishes to McDonagh.
With McDonagh set to be out of action for a lengthy period due to his injuries, WWE may be required to change its plans for his group Judgment Day with WrestleMania season not far away.
It also presents question marks over what the group's plans will be for this weekend's highly-anticipated Royal Rumble event.
