Manchester United fans have been sharing an image appearing to be of a young Marcus Rashford on route to training with the club, as the academy graduate appears to be nearing an exit.
Rashford admitted last month he was open to a 'new challenge' away from the Premier League giants.
His career at Old Trafford appears to be nearing an end having failed to feature in Man United's last 11 matches.
Head coach Ruben Amorim took a swipe at the star after Man United's win over Fulham on the weekend, suggesting he would rather play the club's 63-year-old goalkeeper coach amid questions over Rashford's application.
Rashford could be set to leave by the conclusion of the transfer window, with Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund among those leading the race for his signature.
Man United fans have responded by reflecting on an image, purported to be of Rashford on Google Maps in Wythenshawe.
Rashford had shared a screenshot of the image last year, which showed a child waiting by the side of the road, dressed in Manchester United clothing, while preparing to travel to training.
'Button lane pick up point,' Rashford wrote back in September in an Instagram post, appearing to confirm the image was of him.
The street view image had reportedly been taken in 2009, while Rashford had been playing in Man United's academy, after joining four years prior.
Having joined as a seven-year, the boyhood Man United fan graduated to the first team set-up and has played 426 times for the club, scoring 138 goals.
Rashford, now 27, has helped Man United win two FA Cups, two Carabao Cups and the Europa League during his time in the first team.
Fans have commented on the image, reflecting with sadness on how his Man United career appears to be drawing to a close.
'Forever a Red. I want to wish Marcus the very best whatever happens,' one fan said.
'He is Manchester United, he breaths Manchester United,' another added.
'Don't make me bawl my eyes out,' a third wrote.
Former Man United defender Rio Ferdinand claimed on Monday that there is no way back for Rashford at the club following Amorim's recent comments.
When asked about Rashford's latest absence against Fulham, Amorim suggested he would rather play his goalkeeper coach over the forward.
'The reason is the training, what I think a footballer should do in training, in life and every day,' Amorim said.
'I will put Vital before I put a player who doesn't give the maximum every day.'
Speaking on his Rio Presents YouTube channel, six-time Premier League winner Ferdinand claimed Amorim's comments have shown there is no future for Rashford at Old Trafford.
'If I was that player that the manager said that about, my heart, my pride, my ego – embarrassment,' Ferdinand said.
'For someone to question your application, to question [whether] you're going out there and giving 100 per cent for your team, [suggesting] that you're going to slack off and you're taking shortcuts…
'We all have days off or moments when we're not performing well, lacking confidence, but effort isn't really one of the things I would want to be hearing a manager say is lacking in my makeup.
'That's a damning comment, because I think he knows what the reaction is after that comment. He's not saying that without thinking, 'Where does this go after?' There's really no way back for Marcus after that, I don't think, with that type of comment.
'You’re looking at it and going, "He has only been there a short bit of time and he’s actually straight away gone, he’s pulled out the nine-millimetre revolver and just gone bang". There’s no way back from that.
'If he comes back, that means other players can now take their foot off the gas and still have a way back into the team.'
