EastEnders star Sam Strike has reportedly landed his first big Hollywood role, as The Gunslinger in a miniseries adaptation of Stephen King's The Dark Tower.

According to Deadline, the soap star will take on the role previously played by Idris Elba in the 2017 feature film, in a miniseries set for release on Amazon Prime Video.

It comes four years after Sam quit the role of Johnny Carter on EastEnders after playing the character for just a year, and has since had smaller roles in Mindhunter and Nightflyers.
