It is not a very rock'n'roll way to come to harm. But Brian May ended up in hospital after tearing his buttock muscle 'to shreds' while gardening.
The Queen guitarist, 72, told fans the damage to his gluteus maximus left him in constant agony and unable to walk.
May, pictured, broke the news on Instagram yesterday with a selfie of him in a surgical mask and a video as he was wheeled through a hospital.
He wrote: 'I managed to rip my gluteus maximus to shreds in a moment of over-enthusiastic gardening.

'So suddenly I find myself in a hospital getting scanned to find out exactly how much I've damaged myself.
'Turns out I did a thorough job – this is a couple of days ago – and I won't be able to walk for a while... or sleep, without a lot of assistance, because the pain is relentless.'
The muscle, the largest in the body, controls hip and thigh movement.
May, who is married to former EastEnders star Anita Dobson, 71, told fans he needs to 'go dark' to get 'complete rest' and asked for 'healing silence' over 'sympathy'.
