Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker celebrates as the band's biggest hit reaches one billion streams - after welcoming baby daughter

Tame Impala's hit song The Less I Know the Better has surpassed one billion streams. 

Frontman Kevin Parker, 35, celebrated the success of the 2015 single when he received APRA AMCOS' The 1,000,000,000 List award in Sydney, thanking fans.

He said: 'I owe APRA a lot, thank you everyone, this means a lot. Thanks for supporting me.'

At the event, which was held on Saturday, he also explained the song was originally intended for producer Mark Ronson.

'During the recording session, I was working myself up to tell him I was going to take it back,' Kevin said of the song, which appears on Tame Impala's third album Currents, released in 2015.
