Mikel Arteta has launched a strong defence of Arsenal's handling of David Luiz and joined calls for the introduction of temporary concussion substitutions.

Arsenal came in for criticism for allowing defender Luiz to play on until half-time after he was involved in a sickening aerial collision with Wolves striker Raul Jimenez.

Jimenez had to be carried off on a stretcher and was left needing surgery on a fractured skull following the incident.
