Leicester City's pre-season problems persisted on Tuesday evening as they were beaten 2-1 by Championship side Burton Albion.

Nigel Clough's side are the bookies favourites for relegation from the second tier this season, but they raced into a two-goal lead before the half-hour mark as Lucas Akins added to Hope Akpan's 16th minute header. 

New signing Harry Maguire did half the deficit for Craig Shakespeare's side, but a team that included wantaway winger Riyad Mahrez couldn't find an equaliser at the Pirelli Stadium as they lost back-to-back matches against Championship opposition following their 1-0 defeat at Wolves.
