Thomas Lemar is happy to remain a Monaco player after his deadline day move to Arsenal was called off.

The French youngster had previously been a Liverpool target the summer, but the Gunners turned their attention to the 21-year-old in a deal which could have then led to Alexis Sanchez being allowed to leave the Emirates for Manchester City.

However, the move for Lemar fell through with Arsenal insisting they were not left with enough time to complete the move. That, in turn, meant Sanchez's switch to the Etihad was off.

As well as dealing with speculation regarding his future, Lemar scored a stunning goal in France's 4-0 World Cup qualifying victory over Holland, and revealed after the game that he is happy to be returning to Monaco.
