The noisy miner is even more aggressive than Australia's swooping magpies, under-siege pedestrians have claimed.

More than 1,000 magpie attacks have been recorded this year, including one on a cyclist, 76, who died after slamming into a fence while trying to avoid the vicious bird. 

But Melbourne residents have claimed noisy miners are more likely to attack - with one concerned mother claiming the tiny birds even pulled out her son's hair.
