Pittsburgh Pirates relief pitcher Felipe Vazquez is facing 21 new counts ranging from child pornography to unlawful contact with a minor following his September arrest on charges of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in 2017.

At his second preliminary hearing on Tuesday, Vazquez was hit with 10 counts of child pornography, 10 counts of unlawful contact with a minor, and a count of corruption of a minor. All of the new charges are considered third degree felonies, which can be punished by as much as seven years in prison each.

Police seized Vazquez's iPhone XS and Apple MacBook Pro during a search of his Pennsylvania residence, leading to the discovery of seven photographs and three videos of a girl in 'various stages of nudity,' according to the police complaint.

Vazquez, 28, had requested the photos and videos, according to police.

He was initially arrested in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania in September on charges filed in Florida, where the alleged victim now resides.

Local prosecutors had requested that Vazquez be extradited to Florida, but a judge has denied the motion.

'He will stay until the charges are disposed of in this county,' Westmoreland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rita Hathaway said, as quoted by TribLive.com.
