Man, 52, is charged with the murder of journalist Lyra McKee, 29, who was shot dead as she observed rioting in Londonderry in April last year Man from Londonderry was arrested yesterday and was taken to a crime unit Also been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life  He has also been charged with professing to be a member of a proscribed group

A 52-year-old man has been charged with the murder of journalist Lyra McKee, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said.

The man is from Londonderry and was arrested yesterday, before being taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite.  

He is also charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and professing to be a member of a proscribed organisation. 

He will appear at Londonderry Magistrates Court on Thursday, 13 February.
