Footy great Sam Newman is getting help from close friends in arranging the funeral of his beloved wife Amanda Brown, as listeners wonder whether he will be able to proceed with his regular podcast on Wednesday.
Newman and close mate Don Scott - also a former AFL footy legend - usually come together midweek to record their popular podcast You Cannot Be Serious.
It was not known whether Newman would muster the strength or deem it appropriate to record what is normally a light-hearted discussion so soon after Ms Brown died suddenly on Saturday night.
As friends continue to rally around Newman, more details have emerged of the night his world came tumbling down.

Saturday had been unseasonably warm when the former Geelong great and Footy Show co-host ventured out with mates from his Docklands apartment to enjoy a meal from his favourite fish'n'chip shop in Werribee.
Newman had often travelled down the highway to visit Kippers on the main drag of Watton Street - a stone's throw from Werribee River.
After sharing the meal, he returned to his apartment where he found Ms Brown, 50, dead on the floor.
Newman and Ms Brown got married in November last year but had been privately together for nearly two decades.
Daily Mail Australia has been told Newman remains deep in shock about the tragedy and was not yet ready to speak publicly.
It is understood friends and family have rallied around the 75-year old to help him organise his life and prepare for what is expected to be a small, private funeral.
The outspoken and larger-than-life Newman had worked diligently to keep his long-time partner out of the spotlight, which had suited her just fine.Insurance Loans Mortgage Attorney Credit Lawyer
