A devastating fire severely damaged a commercial garage in Laval’s Pont-Viau district Monday night.

The building, located on Tourangeau St. at the corner of Laurentian Blvd., a high traffic area, became the object of four alarms and firefighters’ work was made even more hazardous by the presence of propane tanks on the site.

Power was cut temporarily to the neighbourhood as first responders also worked to ensure the flames didn’t spread to neighbouring buildings.

There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
