Thousands of travellers head to Appleby horse fair

More than 30,000 visitors and 10,000 travellers are expected to arrive in Appleby, Cumbria for the horse fair The long-running festival is one of the highlights of the Cumbrian social calendar and will start on Thursday  Cumbrian police have warned motorists in the area to watch out for horses on their way to the festival

Thousands of travellers are on their way to the world famous horse fair in Appleby which is one of the highlights of Cumbria's social calendar. 

The fair is due to open on Thursday and will continue throughout the weekend. Cumbria police have warned road users to watch out for horses in the area.
