Plane travel is a speedy and usually straight forward way of getting from A to B. Whether jetting off on an exotic holiday or flying domestically for a business meeting, air travel can get you to your destination in half the time of other modes of transport. Unfortunately, there are often plenty of moments when travellers are faced with long waiting times. Even worse, these hold-ups often happen before passengers have even made it onto the plane.

Manchester Airport was voted the "worst airport" for security waiting times
It seems security lines are one of the biggest culprits for slowing passengers down.
Now, 4,000 travellers have shared their airport experience to reveal which transport hub is home to the slowest security in the country, with one airport taking the unsought crown.
According to the survey, conducted by consumer rights agency Which?, Manchester airport has been voted the "worst" for keeping passengers waiting in security lines.
Travellers heading through the hub are faced with average waiting times of around 16 minutes - but a reported worst-case scenario of 90 minutes.
All three of the northern airport’s terminals also averaged out with longer waiting times than its rivals.
The typical waiting time reported by recent travellers from Terminal 1 was 17 minutes. The smaller Terminals 2 and 3 had times of 15.5 minutes.
Although the airport reported it was working on improving its security processing times, in 2017 it failed to hit a self-set target of getting 95 per cent of travellers through security in less than eight minutes.
This time has since been readjusted to 92 per cent of travellers in a processing time of 15 minutes.
However, Manchester wasn’t the only flight hub highlighted in the survey for its sluggish security.sonos sonos One (Gen 2) -
