Travelling with hand luggage only is a great way of saving money. However, in the age of COVID-19, it carries a new unexpected risk.
The Government previously advised travellers to avoid hand luggage where possible due to suspected transmission of the virus.
The Government advice states: “You are strongly encouraged to check-in baggage to the aircraft hold and minimise any hand baggage.
“This will speed up boarding and disembarking and minimise the risk of transmission.”
However, for some people, flying without hand luggage simply is not an option.
And with holidays still ongoing for many Britons, keeping transmission low is a priority.

Luckily, an expert has revealed some ways holidaymakers can protect themselves.
“As travel restrictions tighten and more and more countries are added to the quarantine list, we all have to be vigilant when it comes to travelling abroad this year.
“If you have plans to travel over the next few weeks, you’re one of the lucky ones! But ensure you’re safe during your trip,” said Deyan Dimitrov, CEO of Laundryheap.
According to Dimitrov, there is one item which travellers should be sure to have to hand in order to protect themselves.
