Former BBC Breakfast presenter Steph McGovern, 38, has revealed she said no to participating on this year's series of Strictly Come Dancing after being approached as a contestant for the competition "a couple of times" in her career. The Channel 4 star opened up about her decision to decline the offer to hit the dance floor on the BBC programme.
I got asked again this year
Steph's ongoing commitment to her Channel 4 offering has been going strong for some time, as she confessed to saying no to starring on Strictly on more than one occasion.
The ex-BBC star revealed she was asked to appear on the 2020 edition of Strictly, which has seen the likes of Ranvir Singh, Bill Bailey and Caroline Quentin in the line-up.
"I have actually been asked a couple of times," she shared on her programme.
"I got asked again this year but obviously I had a show to launch."

Comedian Luke Kempner went on to press Steph for more information as he wanted to know whether she would turn the offer down again in the future.
He asked the star if she would consider taking part next year, to which Steph said: "Maybe, I don't know."
The return of Strictly kicked off last weekend where YouTube star HRVY topped the leaderboard with his jive with professional dancer Janette Manrara.
While EastEnders actress Maisie Smith wasn't too far behind after performing her Samba with Gorka Marquez, Jamie Laing and Jacqui Smith found themselves at the bottom end of the board.
