ZOE BALL has been called out on her "party animal" past by Gardeners' World presenter Monty Don, as he shared a sweet 50th birthday message dedicated to the Strictly: It Takes Two host on her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show this morning.

Zoe Ball turned 50 today and her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show colleagues organised some exciting surprise birthday messages for her in honour of the special occasion, one of which was from Gardeners’ World presenter Monty Don, 65. Zoe, who is a big fan of the BBC programme, seemed delighted to hear from Monty during her show this morning.

In the message, the horticulturalist couldn’t resist making a cheeky reference to the Strictly: It Takes Two host’s “party animal” past and how much she has changed since then.

Monty said: “Morning Zoe, Monty Don here.”

After hearing the star’s voice, Zoe let out a shocked gasp before he continued: “I gather that today is your birthday and a special one at that.

“For someone who was such a party animal in the 90s I also hear that a wild night for you now is curled up on the sofa watching Gardeners’ World with a cup of tea.
