Comedian and actor Hugh, 56, revealed he’s “very happy” with Claire, 53, after reports emerged of their relationship.
“I am very, very happy, we are so very happy,” he told the Mail on Sunday. “It’s nice and yes, it’s so lovely."
Friends told the publication the couple are “very much in love and have been for the last year” after finding romance together after their respective marriages broke down.
A select few close to Hugh and Claire reportedly knew of their relationship, though they chose not to “go public” with it.
“It’s the most wonderful love story,” a source said. “They found one another at the right time in their lives and it’s all rather sweet.

They are also said to have been open about their relationship with their exes and children.
Claire and her ex-husband Charles Palmer, a TV director, are believed to have gone their separate ways two-and-a-half years ago after tying the knot in 2001.
The pair share two teenage sons.
Mock the Week favourite Hugh, meanwhile, is said to have ended his marriage of 19 years to Kate Abbot-Anderson in 2015.
