Follow Mail Sport's live blog for the latest score and game-by-game updates as defending champion Jannik Sinner takes on Alexander Zverev in the men's final of the 2025 Australian Open.
Fans are tearing into Aryna Sabalenka and her team over a bizarre post-match video
Tennis fans have criticised Aryna Sabalenka and her team over a bizarre video that has been gaining some attention on social media.
The Australian Open's defending women's singles champion was beaten during Saturday's final by Madison Keys, losing the showpiece event 3-6 6-2 5-7.
But after coming second, Sabalenka and her team gathered around the runers-up trophy in the player's locker room. The group had placed the trophy on the ground and then appeared to thrust in the direction of the trophy, with one fan suggesting that they had appeared to 'urinate' on the plate.
But some were not happy about the moment, with tennis fans taking to X to criticise the gesture.
'So not OK. Even if they're joking,' one wrote.
'Frst of all, it's not funny at all and secondly, its disrespectful as f***.'
'And they all think they're funny? No, they are normally primitive and stupid.'
'Wow… so disrespectfull…' another said while one added: 'Okay, that's way too much...never seen sth. more disrespectful in Tennis.'
After the match, Sabalenka had reflected on the final, claiming that she could be proud of her achievements but added that no one remembers the runner up.
'I think when you get to the point of finals, it's trophy or nothing,' the world No 1 said. 'Nobody remembers the finalist, you know? Nobody put, like, next to the winner (the) finalist name.
'At this point, yeah, I go for titles. Of course, I have to be anyway proud of myself with the finals, three finals in a row. That's something crazy. I hope that next year I'll come back as a better player, and I'll hold Daphne (the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup) one more time.'
Bear Grylls is in the house!
The British TV star sure does love his tennis! I bumped into him at Wimbledon a couple of years back and he was pictured at the Rod Laver Arena for tonight's match!
Sinner takes a 2-0 lead!
Huge tenision at both ends of the court here. Sinner can double his lead in the match, while Zverev is fighting to hit back at the world No 1.
It is Sinner who takes the lead though, breaking his opponent three times to take a 5-4 lead, but gets it with a bit of luck.
He fires the ball towards the right side of the net and it just clips the top of the net and dribbles it's way over the divide.
Zverev, meanwhile, is stood on his baseline but can't make it to the net to reach the ball.
Sinner holds on his own service to take the second set and a 2-0 lead in the match.
Spider cam chaos and the point of the match!
We've just had a break in play as Alexander Zverev looks to receive a serve from Jannik Sinner having gone 5-6 up in the second set.
But the spider cam is bizarrely causing a few issues here and is right in the German's vision.
The Chair umpire has called out for broadcasters to move the camera out of his eye sight and a few moments later, we're ready to play again!
Sinner's serving to save the set, but he's fighting hard to keep things alive.
Both players are fighting tooth-and-nail for this match and Sinner has just claimed a simply epic point against the German. The pair exchanged over 20 shots in that rally, with sinner sending Zverev running to his basline before playing a cute shot down the German's right tramline to seal victory.
And riding high on the momentum of winning that point, Sinner wins the game and takes the second set to a tiebreak.
We really are being treated to some incredible tennis here...
Trouble here for Sinner
Sinner's srvice percentage has dropped down to 52 per cent and Zverev smells an opportunity to clinch an opportunity for a break point.
The German has gone 0-30 up, but Sinner is fighting back here and is serving to stay in this set, with Zverev having gone 4-5 up in games.
But the Italian holds, brilliantly fighting back to beat Zverev 40-30 and take the match to 5-5.
His resilience is impressive and Zverev just can't find a way to beat his opponent on service.
Is Sinner struggling with an injury here?
Jannik Sinner just grabbed the back of his hamstring and has walked towards his bench.
The commentators on Channel 9 have also noticed that the Italian might be struggling with a slight injury here.
During his semi-final clash against Ben Shelton, Sinner had received a lot of treatment on his legs from his team who arrived on court to massage his thighs.
During the last point of that game, Zverev sent sinner stretching wide across the tramline as he attempted to return the ball with a backhand. But in stretching to reach the ball it appears he may have done some damage, with sinner reaching to grab the back of his hamstring appearing in some discomfort.
He took on plenty of water and gels in the intermission and is back on court appearing to move OK right now, having gone 30-0 up against the German.
Another Olympian is in the house!
French swimming sensation Leon Marchand is loving the atmosphere inside the Rod Laver Arena right now.
The Frenchman won an astonishing four gold medals in Paris and has just been marvelling at a sensational shot from Sinner, who only just missed a point with a beautiful cross-court return that was just centremeteres out of play!
Zverev appears to be regaining some momentum in this second set and has just held serve to go 3-4 up.
'I need it, I need it now': Zverev's racket woes
Zverev had appeared to be struggling a little with his rackets in that opening set.
He had a discussion with his coaching team and the umpire over his rackets, with the tennis star appearing to claim where the rackets he'd given to a stringer earlier were.
Channel 9's commentators later revealed that the German had given a few rackets to a stringer an hour before the match but they hadn't arrived in time.
He was heard telling the chair umpire: 'I need it, I need it now,' during the intermission.
'I dropped two rackets one hour before the match,' he said.
'Can they string one now please? 15.9 and 16.9.'
Players tend to change their rackets around to give them greater control when the new balls come into play and Zverev appeared to send several of his rackets off to be restrung during the match.
Zverev had struggled on his serve during the evening, but has just held for two break points to take a 2-1 lead in the second set.
Impressively, he's now saved 7 out of eight break points he's faced against Sinner.
Sinner takes the lead!
After Zverev managed to ave three break points in the eighth game of the match, he ultimately relented to suffer a break against his opponent.
Sinner then took first blood in the match, serving out to go 6-3 up and take the opening set.
Jackie Chan is impressed so far!
As expected, Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner have gotten off to a cagey start - this game could very well go a full fibve sets.
So far it's Sinner whose edging it in the stats, having hit less errors compared to his opponent, striking five unforced errors to Zverev's seven.
They are both tied for five winners each. But Zverev's service game has perhaps been the better.
He's just walloped another ace down the middle of the court, his fourth of the match, with his fastest service topping out at 206km/h.
Jackie Chan, meanwhile, was impressed at the level both are showing right now.

A bizarre warm-up routine
Jannik Sinner goes 3-2 up! He holds off against Zverev's advances on his own service, with Sinner battling to win an advantage before sealing the fifth match.
Being the best tennis player in the world means that you have to do the best preparation to continue to stay at the top level.
But how about this for a slightly odd warm-up from the world No 1?

Another cricket great is in the house!
Zverev and Sinner are matching eachother shot for shot right now.
Neither has been able to make an in road on the opponent's service yet, with Zverev saving two breakpoints in that last game to match Sinner at 2-2.
Meanwhile, tennis great Ricky Ponting is here and he's lapping up the atmosphere inside the Rod Laver Arena.
The Punjab Kings coach will head back to India this March for the 2025 IPL season, which is due to start on March 21.
Jackie Chan is in the house!
Hollywood legend Jackie Chan is in the house for today's final.
The 70-year-old had sparked health concerns last year after reassuring fans that all was well following pictures of him that circulated on social media.
But Chan looked in great humour today and yesterday, having also been in the stands to watch Madison Keys beat Aryna Sabalenka at the Rod Laver Arena.
Yesterday, the Hollywood actor was also seen training with Australian tennis great Lleyton Hewitt and caught up with Alexander Zverev for a chat ahead of today's final.
We're about to get underway!
The players have made their way out onto the court and have completed their warmups.
It's Sinner to serve first!
Tennis fans hit out at 'fun nepotism'
Some fans on X have questioned why Todd Woodbridge's son, Beau, was singing the national anthem.
'Todd Woodbridges son doing the national anthem is some fun nepotism,' one wrote.
'Neoptism much,' another added.
But some commended Woodbridge Jnr for his performance.
'What a beautiful version of the National Anthem by Beau Woodbridge. Sung as it should be.'
The Australian of the year is in the house!
The players are just about to walk out to the Rod Laver Arena here.
Todd Woodbridge's son Beau Woodbriedge is signing the Australian national anthem here.
The 2025 Australian of the year, Neale Daniher AO, is also welcomed to the Rod Laver Arena to rapturous applause!

Kyrgios lashes out with a thinly-veiled dig
Nick Kyrgios has taken a thinly-veiled dig towards Channel 9 reporter Tony Jones for his comments about Djokovic in which he claimed on a live television broadcast that the Serbian was a 'has-been'.
The Australian has dished out a few sledges to the broadcaster over the past seven days, including a brutally scathing video on Instagram slamming Jones.
John Millman and Jelena Dokic, meanwhile, hit back at some fans who booed Djokovic after he withdrew from his semi-final match against Zverev earlier in the week.
And Kyrgios commented to a clip of their praise for Djokovic online: 'This is what reporting looks like.'
Novak lashes out at sports injury 'experts'
Some fans inside the Rod Laver arena booed Novak Djokovic after he had withdrawn from his semi-final clash against Alexander Zverev on Friday.
It was a shock moment, but Djokovic had been battling to be fit to play in the huge match, having left the court during his quarter-finals clash against Carlos Alcaraz for a medical time-out.
The 24-time Grand Slam winner lashed out at fans who had criticised him for pulling out against Zverev by posting an image of an MRI scan on his X account that appears to show a soft-tissue injury to his hamstring.
British star Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara clinch doubles glory
British star Henry Patten and Finland's Harri Heliovaara clinched victory in the men's doubles on Saturday night at Melbourne Park.
The Finnish-British pairing, seeded sixth, outlasted third-seeded Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori 6-7 (16-18) 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 in an epic final that went on until 1:30am this morning.
But the scheduling of the match meant that the stands inside the Rod Laver Arena were pretty much empty for the men's doubles showpiece.
And Vavassori hit out at Australian Open boss Craig Tiley over the scheduling of the match
Hopefully, next year you change the time of the doubles because I don't think it's good for doubles to have not so many people watching.
And many fans seemed to agree with him. Read more below...
Tale of the tape!
Right, it's not long now until Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev take to the court here at the Rod Laver Arena so let's check out how they got to tonight's final.
Interestingly, Sinner has been out on court for slightly longer than Zverev in the past two weeks, having played 15 hours and four minutes.
After Novak Djokovic retired against Zverev during their semi-final clash earlier in the week, Zverev has spent 13 hours and 22 minutes on court over the fortnight.
It's world No 1 against world No 2 tonight, with these two players having gone head-to-head six times over their careers.
And it si Zverev who has more wins against Sinner, with the German having clinched victory on four of those occasions, notably winning their most recent clash in Cincinnati in Ausugst last August.
It is also worth noting that Zverev is four years older than his Italian opponent, but has never won a Grand Slam title, with today's game being the third time in his career that he has reached the final of a slam.
Sinner, meanwhile, has two Grand Slam wins and today will look to retain his Australian Open title.
While this is a tough match to call, I'm pretty sure this game will go the distance, with their last Grand Slam clash at the 2023 US Open lasted five hours...

The life of a tennis ball...
Ever wondered what happens to all the tennis balls used at the Australian Open after the tournament?
After nine games, each ball is replaced but it's journey doesn't end there.
Used tennis balls are donated to clubs and player programmes and Tennis Australia also sell some of the balls to help support the Australian Tennis Foundation.
The moment she won it!
An emotional Madison Keys delivered a touching speech after her Grand Slam victory on Saturday evening...
OK bare with me I'm absolutely going to cry. Firstly, Aryna unbelievable playing - I'm glad I finally got you back. But unbelievable tennis you're always so tough to play and we always have the toughest matches. Congratulations to you and your team for an amazing Grand Slam run.
Thank you to everyone who came out and cheered the last two weeks. I always feel so at home here. I made my very first Grand Slam semi-final here in Melbourne so to now have won my first Grand Slam in the same place means the absolute world to me. I'm so thankful to all of you who come out and cheer every time we're here in Melbourne.
I just want to say thank you to my team. This is where I'm gonna cry. I have wanted this for so long I have been in one other Grand Slam final and it did not go my way and I didn't know if I was ever going to get back to this position to try to win a trophy again. And my team believed in me every step of the way so thank you so much.
They believed in me when I didn't believe in myself and helped me every step of the way. Last year was tough. I had some rally bad injuries and I didn't know if I was going to be able to do it again and to be here and have this trophy and to be able to do it with my husband I love you all so much I cannot wait for more.
Keys was left star-struck on Saturday night!
Madison Keys has been receiving congratulatory messages from people all around the world, including one famous rapper who left her starstruck on Sunday afternoon.
Lil Wayne took to X to send his congratulations to the American Tennis star for winning the Australian Open on Saturday.
Keys hilariously replied: 'Wow okayy'.
The love story behind Madison Keys' Australian Open win
And what a win it was for the American, who clinched her first-ever Grand Slam title on Saturday afternoon by sweeping away defending champion and world No 1 Aryna Sabalenka.
Keys had to claim victory the hard way, too, besting all of Danielle Collins, Elena Rybakina, Elina Svitolina and world No 2 Iga Swiatek to reach the final of the tournament - the second Grand Slam final she has ever played in.
Keys, who is coached by her husband Bjorn Fratangelo, credited her life partner for helping her revive her tennis career.
Keys had burst onto the tennis scene at the age of 14 and was being backed for stardom during the early years of her career.
But injury woes and dips in form have hampered Keys' attempts to win titles in the past and that prompted her to change coaches.
Fratangelo, a former ATP top-100 player, slowed down his tennis career to begin coaching Keys back in 2023, before they were married in November 2024.
'I have the absolute greatest team,' she said while holding the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup on Saturday.
'They have really believed in me in the moments that I did not believe in myself, and they basically helped me completely rebuild after some pretty bad injuries last year.
'And I have the most supportive, best husband in the entire world, who did not even want to coach me and I was like, "Please, come with me".
