  • United beat Fulham 1-0 to secure a much-needed Premier League victory
  • They were, though, left with a three-hour journey to get home in the pouring rain
  • LISTEN NOW: It's All Kicking Off! Ruben Amorim's comments are remarkable... but can we blame him?

Manchester United's players and staff were forced to take two buses back to their Carrington base on Sunday night after their flight was cancelled.

United secured a much-needed win over Fulham on Sunday evening, with Lisandro Martinez's second-half strike enough to secure a 1-0 win that lifted them to 12th in the Premier League table.

Ruben Amorim's side have now won two of their last three matches in the league, also securing back-to-back victories since the Portuguese branded his players the 'worst team in history' of the club.

It was also an away win for the Red Devils, who toppled an impressive Fulham, but the journey back wasn't plain sailing and they arrived back at Carrington, their training ground, at 1:30am early on Monday morning.

Overall, the journey took nearly three-and-a-half hours on two separate buses from London, with the two vehicles seen pulling into a car park at Manchester airport in the early hours.

That was because most of the team had parked their cars there because they were initially due to fly back from the game before their flight was cancelled amid Storm Herminia-related disruption.

A number of players were snapped leaving the airport in the pouring rain, with Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo - who thought he had scored a second goal before it was ruled out for offside - sharing a Range Rover, as they often do.

Garnacho was driving, showing off his white £120,00 whip.

Manuel Ugarte, meanwhile, didn't seem to be too pleased with events as he appeared to put his middle finger up at the camera.

Hero of the night, Martinez, was seen leaving in his Rolls Royce Cullinan, which costs £350,000 on the market.

Captain Bruno Fernandes gave fellow midfielder Casemiro a lift, and was snapped with his sun visor down as he wheeled out in his new £250,000 Bentley Bentayga Black Edition.

Meanwhile, Matthijs de Ligt, who has endured a bumpy ride since his £42.8million summer move from Bayern Munich, exited the airport in his £120,000 Range Rover.

One star posing for the camera was Leny Yoro, who put up three fingers in his black Audi.

Elsewhere, misfiring duo Joshua Zirkze and Rasmus Hojlund drove a Porsche and Land Rover respectively, both cutting tired figures.

Following the final whistle in the capital, head coach Ruben Amorim continued to criticise Marcus Rashford, who was once again absent from the United squad for the game.

Rashford hasn't appeared for the last 11 games amid uncertainty over his future at Old Trafford as talks continue over a loan move to Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona.

Amorim axed Rashford from his squad for the Manchester derby last month over his attitude in training, and the United boss confirmed that is still the reason for the 27-year-old's absence.

'It's always the same reason,' said Amorim after the win over Fulham. 'The reason is the training. The way I see what a footballer should do in training, in life, every day. If things don't change, I will not change.

'You can see it today on the bench. We needed a little bit of pace to change the game to move some pieces, but I prefer it like that.

'I will put Vital on before I put a player that doesn't give the maximum. I will not change in that department.'

Rashford himself, meanwhile, issued a five-word response on social media on the back of the victory.

Amorim was also seen leaving the airport, driving his own £180,000 electric Porsche Taycan Turbo Estate home to enjoy three points on what would be his birthday as he turned 40 on Monday.

United will be hoping that their win over Fulham can help propel them up the table, with the Red Devils two points off Brentford - the side in 11th and directly above them.

Next up, they will take on Crystal Palace in league action next weekend, but first must tackle FCSB in the Europa League as they look to seal their qualification for the last-16.

Amorim's side are fourth in the Europa League table, though just two points clear of the play-off places.
