Chelsea forgotten man Charly Musonda’s captured the footballing community’s heart last week with an emotional Instagram post depicting his attempts to relaunch his career following a serious injury.

And today Sportsmail can reveal details of Charly Musonda’s long road to recovery.

The 23-year-old’s career has been plagued with injury problems resulting in him playing just four games - whilst on loan at Vitesse Arnhem - in the previous two seasons.

The talented forward - who was once viewed as one of the best young players in Europe - highlighted those difficulties with an honest and poignant social media post last week - revealing medics told him he only had a 20 per cent chance of ever playing again.

But Musonda is on the comeback trail - and Sportsmail can detail the inner workings of his road to recovery from a serious knee injury.

The Belgian has spent a portion of his time based in the United Arab Emirates training at the Transform Altitude Centre in Dubai - a world renowned facility that has also been used by the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dele Alli and David Silva.
