Faye, 33, played the character of Kate Connor on Coronation Street for four years before she the actress quit the role two years ago. In her first major television stint since leaving the ITV soap, the amateur skater will be performing on Dancing on Ice with professional skater Hamish Gaman and the pair are already hot favourites to win. With some of her former co-stars having already competed on the show, it seems their advice for her could mean the contestant secures her victory.


Speaking to Express.co.uk and other publications, Faye spoke about the advice the likes of Sophie Webster star Brooke Vincent, 28, and Leanne Battersby actress Jane Danson, 42, have given her.
The former soap star said: “I don’t think I’ve had one person not want to wish me well, especially the Corrie girls who have possibly taken part in the show because there's quite a few of them.
“They will know what it's like to do the show and how hard it is and just the whole fact that it's live every Sunday.
“Jane gave me the best advice because, like myself, she completely fell in love with ice skating,” the contestant explained.

“[Jane] said to me just keep doing it and enjoy every second of your time there on the show because you just don't know when it's your last skate,” Faye continued.
So, having not one but several co-stars who have been in her shoes before, could the ammeter skater have the formula to win this year’s competition.
